1. Acceptance of these terms
By creating an account or using SevaCart (the “Service”), you confirm that you’ve read, understood, and agreed to these Terms of Service (“Terms”) and our Privacy Policy. If you don’t agree, please don’t use the Service.
2. Eligibility
- You must be at least 18 years of age to register an account.
- If you’re below 18, you may use SevaCart only with verifiable consent from a parent or guardian.
- You must provide accurate information when registering. Impersonation is strictly prohibited.
- You’re responsible for safeguarding your password and all activity under your account.
3. Our services
SevaCart provides:
- Seva offerings — booking and paying for poojas, abhishekas, and rituals at participating temples.
- Donations — contributions to gaushalas (cow shelters), gurukuls, orphanages, and temple-renovation campaigns.
- Sankalpa generation — automated traditional Sanskrit/English Sankalpa using your profile details.
- Spiritual content — Panchang, festival calendars, devotional information.
- Receipts — digital donation receipts and 80G tax certificates (where applicable).
SevaCart facilitates these transactions; the actual seva is performed by the partner temple or institution. We are not the religious authority performing the ritual.
Partner responsibility. SevaCart’s role is limited to facilitating bookings between devotees and partner institutions (temples, gaushalas, NGOs). Upon successful payment, SevaCart notifies the partner of the booking. Performance of the seva — including its timing, ritual conduct, quality of prasadam, completeness, and outcome — is the sole responsibility of the partner institution. SevaCart does not warrant, guarantee, or assume legal liability for the conduct, non-performance, delay, or quality of any seva performed by partner institutions. Disputes regarding seva performance should be raised with the partner institution directly; SevaCart will assist as a facilitator only.
4. Payments and refunds
- All payments are processed by Cashfree, our PCI-DSS Level 1 certified payment partner.
- Prices listed are inclusive of applicable taxes unless stated otherwise.
- A small platform fee may apply to donations (clearly disclosed at checkout) to sustain the SevaCart infrastructure.
- GST. Sevasannidhi LLP is not currently registered under GST as aggregate turnover is below the ₹20 lakh threshold (CGST Act §22). No GST is therefore charged on the platform fee at this stage. Once Sevasannidhi LLP crosses the threshold and registers, applicable GST will be added transparently to the platform fee as a separate line item on receipts. Pass-through seva amounts to partner institutions remain exempt under Notification 12/2017-Central Tax (Rate) regardless.
- Sevas (no-refund policy) — sevas are devotional services performed at our partner institutions. Once an order is placed, the seva is allocated to the temple priest and considered consumed — therefore all seva contributions are non-refundable. The single exception: if the temple is unable to perform the seva for reasons attributable to the temple or SevaCart (e.g., temple closure on the date), we will refund 100% of the contribution within 14 working days.
- Donations — voluntary contributions are non-refundable once received by the institution. If the transaction fails or is duplicated due to a technical error, we will refund the duplicate amount within 7 working days.
- Why no refunds for sevas? The seva is a devotional act with spiritual significance, not a tangible product. Once a temple priest commits time, materials, and prayer to fulfill your Sankalpa, the act cannot be undone. By placing the order, you affirm your devotional intent.
- 80G certificates. Sevasannidhi LLP itself is not 80G-registered. If the partner institution receiving your seva is 80G-registered, you may request a certificate from the institution directly using the reference on your payment receipt. See the disclaimer §4 for the full position.
4.5. Refund and cancellation
The full refund mechanics — eligible scenarios, amount math, gateway timelines — are set out in the refund policy. The per-seva cancellation windows and how partners may cancel are set out in the cancellation policy. Both pages are referenced from the global footer and from every order detail page.
5. Recurring contributions (Sankalpa)
If you opt into a recurring monthly Sankalpa, you authorize us (via Cashfree) to charge the chosen payment method on the same calendar day each month. You may pause or cancel at any time from your profile. Cancellation takes effect from the next billing cycle.
6. Your account and data
You retain ownership of all personal information you provide. We process your data only as described in our Privacy Policy. You can update or delete your profile data at any time from your profile page.
7. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or to violate any law or regulation.
- Impersonate any person or institution, including making fraudulent donations.
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems, other accounts, or partner systems.
- Use the Service to send spam, phishing, or hostile content.
- Reverse-engineer, scrape, or otherwise misuse the Service or its content.
- Use the Service in a manner that disrespects any religion, deity, institution, or community.
Violations may result in suspension or termination of your account without notice.
8. Partner institutions
Temples, gaushalas, gurukuls, and NGOs listed on SevaCart are independently registered and operated. We perform reasonable verification (the “✓ Verified by SevaCart” badge), but we are not responsible for the religious rites, internal operations, or community policies of any partner. Disputes regarding the conduct of a specific seva should be raised with both the partner and our support team.
9. Intellectual property
All content on SevaCart — branding, software, designs, devotional information, Sanskrit text compilations, panchang data — is owned by SevaCart or its licensors and protected under Indian and international intellectual-property laws. You may not copy, reproduce, or redistribute this content without prior written consent.
Logos, names, and images of partner temples and institutions remain the property of those entities.

Our total liability for any claim shall not exceed the amount you paid to SevaCart in the 12 months preceding the event giving rise to the claim.
12. Indemnity
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless SevaCart from any claims, damages, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your breach of these Terms or your misuse of the Service.
13. Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms occasionally. Material changes will be communicated by email and via a notice on the Service for at least 7 days before they take effect. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance.
14. Governing law and dispute resolution
These Terms are governed by the laws of India. Any dispute shall first be attempted to be resolved by good-faith discussion. If unresolved, disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in Bengaluru, Karnataka, India.
